Are the quick-connect terminals safe?

Regular products are safe when used in accordance with the specifications. However, choosing the wrong model or operating improperly may pose risks of overheating and electric leakage. The key lies in the product certification and the usage scenario. 

Confirm safety certification: Choose products with certifications such as UL, TUV. The UL 486E standard covers scenarios with high current and high voltage, and UL 310 is suitable for the internal lead terminals of electrical appliances.

Select reliable brands: Brands like Wanke and Gao Song have been tested over time and their quality is reliable. Poor-quality terminals have a large contact resistance and are prone to overheating.

Check material and workmanship: Pure copper conductors and stainless steel spring clips are more durable than plastic parts when subjected to force. 

Which situations are prone to problems?

Do not use large-load equipment: When carrying high current, the contact resistance is easily affected by external factors, and periodic temperature changes can cause the terminals to loosen.

Loose wiring is a common problem: Loose wire ends, aging plastic parts that cannot be pressed tightly, can all lead to electric leakage and tripping. 

Be cautious in humid environments: Periodic temperature changes and additional stress are two major hazard factors. 

For low-voltage scenarios such as daily household lighting and switches, regular quick-connect terminals are fine. For high-power equipment, it is recommended to use screw compression terminals for a more reliable solution.
